Hi, my name is Feng Chen and I run Appwork. I've worked in web development for more than 12 years using languages like Perl, ASP and Java. Over all these years, I have tried various ways to make web application development more efficient for myself and for the clients.
I have always wanted to build a tool that can be used to quickly model web application flow and interactions to streamline the requirement gathering and prototyping processes, yet is simple enough for non-programmers to use. AppSketcher was created out of this desire.
It took a while in the making. I have learned a lot in this journey, especially on how one needs to strike a balance between keeping an eye on the broader vision and paying attention to the nitty gritty details. It is worthwhile.
My goal going forward is to provide my best effort helping customers and to continue developing and improving AppSketcher:
Continue our "Web Native" approach and make it more capable of answering "how should my application behave and look", a question that is at the center of every prototyping undertaking.
Improve its usability to provide users a more intuitive designing experience.
Some of the features (theme being the most prominent one) in version 1.0 are the result of user feedback during private beta period. I would love to hear more of your feedback and suggestions so together we can make AppSketcher better and more useful. Thank you.
